Those who have stumbled across this blog, you’ll notice that there have been a dearth of updates in about 3 years. This isn’t because Steve forgot about the blog, quite the opposite in fact. But life interfered in a big way of his being unable to put his thoughts online.

You see, Steve was a guest of the state for a while. But he didn’t forget about recording his thoughts. He recorded them while he was “on the inside”. Now it’s just a matter of transcribing them and putting them up. So you’ll see some backdated entries going up in a bit. Some will be lighthearted, most will just be a glimpse into how his mind processes life, and some will be VERY serious and painful.

It’s going to be a hell of a ride.

Now, the big question, why is Steve referring to himself in the third person?

It’s been a really long time since I’ve updated this blog. But, I’m paying for the hosting, so I might as well use it, right?

Well, a brief update on the life of a sex-offender just trying to make it in the world:

  1. Steve got his degree. Yay! Go me! I’ve been employed in an office for a little over two years now.
  2. Steve got married to a wonderful woman who means everything to him. I’m so happy and content.
  3. Steve welcomed two furry babies into the world. Well, not babies.. grown cats.. but they are his fur-children.

So, as far as the blog is concerned, I’m going to TRY to update this blog at least once a day. I’m just catching the February 2013 writings, so I figured this would be a good time to jump back on the wagon.

Before you read the rest of this post, please, please, please, watch the YouTube video below. It will take about 30 seconds of your time.

Ok. As you saw, the above was a paid political advertisement by the Hillary for President campaign in 2008. She was campaigning for the Democrat nomination for President of the United States. Since then, Barack H. Obama became President, appointing her as Secretary of State.

Then Benghazi happened. If you aren’t aware of the controversy surrounding that issue, I suggest you do a quick Google search for it.

I ask you this. If she couldn’t make the right decisions as Secretary of State, why should we believe she would make the right decisions with even MORE authority?

I was at the store today and found myself walking behind a male who was choosing to sag his jeans. I noticed something, he was walking weirdly. I can’t quite call it a duck-walk. But, I theorize, do to his sagged jeans, he was swinging his feet out further than what is a normal gait. It was like his knee was a ball-joint, rather than a hinge. It was strange. Then I went home a did a little research. It’s been theorized that “sagging” can lead to sexual disfunction and “improper gait”.

So, those who would sag, for your health and our sanity.. don’t. Just don’t.

Starting with the November 20th, 2012 post, readers will note that a new category has been added, which I like to call “Garibaldi-isms”.

So what exactly is a “Garibaldi-ism”? Well, it’s named after a character from Babylon 5, Michael Garibaldi, who had this notable scene during the 1st season of the show.

In short, a Garibaldi-ism is when I’m thinking weird stuff, off the wall stuff, thinking great thoughts… excuse me, lapsed into a little Zathras there. ;)

They aren’t meant to be taken seriously. It’s me musing things through. Usually they are humorous, but sometimes with a grain of something to make you ponder as well.

Usually I get great amusement from rereading my Garibaldi-isms, and I hope you will too.

I’ve been noticing something since I started transcribing my prison entries. I’ve been kinda pissy and snippy. Also depressed. I guess re-reading them is having an emotional toll on me. I should stop… but I won’t.

I guess it’s the hight of hubris to think that one man’s prison experience is noteworthy. Hundreds are imprisoned every day nationwide. But… well, not to sound full of myself, I feel I have a way with words. I feel I really could convey and impart in a meaningful way the damage done to a psyche by incarceration.

Though, if I’m affected by this, I dread how I’ll feel when I have to transcribe the two attacks by prison officials against me, and the eight months of psychological torture by a cell-mate. =(

I guess it’s just something that I’ll have to endure.

This “Baroque Four Seasons” is not what I expected. =/ I mean, granted, it IS relaxing… but I was expecting more standard classical music and less harpsichord. I only have myself to blame though. What did I really expect from Baroque music?

My back hurts, in the right shoulder-blade. Maybe writing at this time was a bad idea… =( Yeah, it was…

More tomorrow.

I received a letter from Ed last night. Wrote back immediately. Some might say I was lonely.. and they would be correct. =/ It’s nice to hear from her and about the guild. I wish I could be more active in it. I feel guilty, being an absentee officer. =/

Anyway, I also received some books yesterday. I’m already reading “Swan Song“. It’s good, but depressing so far. I mean, how light-hearted can a book about the aftermath of nuclear war be? It’s to be expected.

I was also sent a new journal. It’s physically larger and very nice. :) It’s unlined, which causes me some concern, but I’ll live with it. The secret is to not make lots of journal entries to finish up this one, so I can start on the new one. I can see myself doing that. =/

I had a medical call-out this morning. I thought/hoped it would be w/ Dr. Mayo, so I brought my medical records. Of course, it was just a blood draw. Silly me, for a minute there I actually was deluded into thinking Dr. Mayo gave a shit. Speaking of which, it’s been over a month since I provided my “sample”, and still no word on what the results were, if any.

Anyway, more later… Must fill up this journal. ;)

The time change was interesting today. LOTS of people “parachuted” out of bed for breakfast this morning. We also had 3rd yard today… for all of about 20 minutes. Mu-hahahahaha.

Fallen from Babel was good… Obviously, as I read it in under 48 hours. Or perhaps it’s just because I didn’t want to be bored out of my skull. =/

My books SHOULD be here tomorrow. The problem is that I have a call out for property at the same time as my group therapy call-out. =( Hopefully I can arrange to pick up my books during 1st yard, or before my group therapy call-out time. Hopefully. *Fingers Crossed*

I’m going to have to get my ears checked when I get out. This having people repeat themselves 4-5 times is REALLY annoying. =(

Anyway, Master Roster Count. More… sometime.
